The problem
Chartering runs on contracts that were never built for it. A generic template gets stretched to fit, clauses get pasted in by hand, and everyone hopes nothing's wrong by the time the last signature lands.
Every market makes it harder: Turkish KDV, Croatian PDV, the way an APA is handled, how instalments fall. A one-size template treats these as a note in the margin. So the broker becomes a part-time contract lawyer, re-typing the same details for every booking and doing the maths by hand.
